Abuse

Hey,

I can’t even begin to express the way that I am feeling right now. It’s a mix of anger, sad and pure numbness. The society we live in has become so wicked, and I’m afraid, not for just myself but everyone. I hate the term domestic violence because society limits the extent of what abuse is. There are multiple forms of abuse and levels to which you know the severity of the dangers.

LOVE is powerful, so powerful that it is dangerous. It’s a gift from God that man abuses. I just lost someone close to me, and I don’t think we fully understand the term ” don’t take any moment for granted” until it’s too late. I can’t pretend I saw the signs because I didn’t, but I also didn’t trust the feelings I had. Abuse has unfortunately become so ordinary that many believe it is needed to be considered in love.

The signs are not always visible as the forms of abuse vary; I don’t understand how the world has negatively evolved. There is a lack of compassion that people sit and suffer from mental illness because it is better than being labeled as weak. My person didn’t deserve this, no one does, but it happens.

We, survivors, know when its time to leave, but when our heart is tender, its hard to follow the signs. We become so good at faking smiles and saying everything is ok, even when we are dying on the inside. You hear, oh they would have told me if it was something going on, truth is when we get to the point where the small fights arent considered that harmful anymore, we stop mentioning it. We remain hopeful that things will get better because the fight wasn’t that big.

I’m so hurt because I didn’t see it coming; I spoke to my person before their tragedy. Who gives an individual the authority to abolish someone’s life? The word teaches us to forgive so that we can be forgiven, but I’m struggling with it. Set them boundaries before it’s too late, get intuned with your intuition that gut feeling, follow it.
